Cruise Vacations

Discount vacations on luxury cruise lines.

I remember watching a romantic movie set on a cruise when I was younger. I can barely remember the title of the movie, but I remember quite clearly how the enormous structure hosted days and nights of sightseeing, nightlife and on-board celebrations for everyone. Young and ambitious, I wanted to be on a cruise one day – maybe with a girl or with my family. But of course, at that time, a cruise was known to be something very expensive and was a market for the rich and famous.

But I guess it was quite a surprise at seeing the Carnival Cruise lines website today offering a 3 to 5 day cruise for only $199. So much for my happy childhood dreams, I guess this means cruising for me is a real possibility now. Of course, if I want to upgrade accommodations it might cost me another $150 to $200, but that’s still within reach. Carnival Cruise has really tried to be competitive in giving affordable cruise and tour packages.

Carnival Cruise Lines consists of about 22 Fun Ships, that offer cabins looking out to sea at different levels of the ship itself, various on-board pools complete with waterworks, gourmet restaurants within reach of the budget, spa salons and a handful of shore excursion destinations to choose from. I admit I may like the sea and water, but I’m not much of a swimmer, as I never learned to swim. But, hey, with several swimming pools on board the ship and with several levels of privacy, I guess I can take a dip now and then. Besides, the poolside view should be great!

People have always viewed cruising as something luxurious, something that is made for the upper-class society. However, a cruise is not much of a far-fetched holiday anymore. Gradually, it has developed into something that everyone can enjoy and experience. It is now something that any decent-earning citizen can save up for and indulge in. At $199 for a three day cruise for example, isn’t so much of a big deal for anyone who wants a different kind of a holiday every now and then.
